Layers of rocks
This image shows there are multiple kinds of rocks. They layer up on one and other of years and years. The lowest rocks can be over 500 MILLION years old.
These kind of rocks are called sedimentary rocks as the higher you go the less time they have been there.
They also are different colors as they are not from one rock. It may be mud or sand that has formed another layer. There are several examples of these rocks at the Conservation park but this is a very large example of rock layers.
